Gusty winds and thundershowers bring much needed respite across country

WEB DESK: On Sunday morning, gusty winds and thundershowers came down in Kashmir, East Punjab, Pothohar region, as well as in Islamabad, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Southeast Sindh.
At some places, heavy rain was also reported, including Northeast Punjab and Kashmir. However, some parts of the country are likely to experience hot and severe weather.
Karachi: Late-night load shedding brings misery and disruption
Going region by region, in Islamabad and surrounding areas, conditions remained cloudy with strong winds and thundershowers. Likewise, in Punjab, gusty winds and thundershowers were reported early morning in some places, whereas others experienced mild heat with overcast.
Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicts winds and thundershowers in Sialkot, Narowal, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Sahiwal, Pakpattan, Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Sargodha, Mianwali, and Khushab. Heavy rain is possible in some areas.
Moving north, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the weather will remain hot and severe in most plain districts. However, rain with strong winds and thundershowers may occur in Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Buner, Peshawar, Mardan, Swabi, Kohat, Karak, Malakand, Bajaur, Khyber, Kurram, and Waziristan.
In Sindh, however, most districts will experience hot and severe weather. In Sanghar, Mirpurkhas, Umarkot, Badin, and other coastal areas, it may be partly cloudy with gusty winds and thundershowers.

In Balochistan, the weather will remain hot and humid in most districts. However, gusty winds and thundershowers are expected in Zhob, Musakhail, Barkhan, Kohlu, Laralai, Sibbi, Lasbela, Awaran, Khuzdar, and surrounding areas during the evening or night.
In Kashmir, rain with strong winds and thunder is expected, with heavy rain likely in some places. Meanwhile, in Gilgit-Baltistan, the weather is expected to remain hot and dry.
