ISLAMABAD:  The weather across most parts of Pakistan is expected to remain extremely hot and dry today however, gusty winds and intermittent rain is predicted for Islamabad today, according to the latest forecast by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

In Islamabad and surrounding areas, the weather during the day will remain intensely hot, while there is a chance of dust storms and rain with thunder in the evening today.

The Met Office said most districts of Punjab will experience extreme heat and dryness. Dust storms are likely in the plains, while areas like Rawalpindi, Murree, Chakwal, and Jhelum could see thunder and light rain later in the day.

In Lahore, the heat remains intense. The early morning temperature was recorded at 36°C, and the maximum is expected to touch 44°C. However, due to humidity and hot winds, it may feel as high as 46°C.

Sindh will remain in the grip of a severe heatwave, with dusty winds expected in several parts. Conditions will be particularly harsh in the upper and central districts.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, hot and dry weather will persist, especially in the plains. However, areas like Chitral, Swat, Malakand, Mansehra, and Kohistan may receive showers in the evening. Dusty winds and thunderstorms are also expected in Peshawar, Abbottabad, and Kohat.

Balochistan is also bracing for hot weather, especially in the central and southern plains, where dry and dusty conditions are likely to persist throughout the day.

In Gilgit-Baltistan, the daytime will be dry and warm, while isolated areas may receive light rain and wind in the evening.

Similarly, Kashmir is expected to stay warm during the day, with a possibility of rain and thunderstorms by night.
