KARACHI: Karachiites finally get some relief as the intense heat gripping the city began to ease due to the return of sea breeze, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

From today, temperatures in Karachi are expected to drop by 1 to 2°C. The mercury is likely to remain between 35°C and 37°C, with winds blowing from the southwest at around 17 km/h.

PMD’s Early Warning Centre also forecast stronger-than-usual winds over the next three days. Maximum temperatures today and tomorrow are expected to stay between 34°C and 36°C.

However, humidity levels may reach 50 per cent to 60 per cent during evening hours, making the weather feel hotter than it is.

Heatwave to ease as rainfall likely from tomorrow

Experts have warned of possible discomfort due to high humidity in the evenings.

Meanwhile, the ongoing heatwave in much of Sindh is expected to ease from tomorrow. A western weather system is currently affecting northern Pakistan, which is also influencing conditions in Sindh.

Light rain and dust storms are forecast in Jamshoro district today. Between May 2 and 5, parts of rural Sindh could also see thunder and rain. Authorities have advised residents and departments to take precaution.
