The closure was part of a broader set of restrictions on the M-2 motorway, which is currently closed from Chakri to Kot Momin.
Similarly, the M-2 from Thokar Niaz Beg to Kot Momin was also closed, complicating plans for those intending to use the busy corridor.
The M-3 motorway was not exempt either, with roads sealed off from Darkhana to Faizpur.
