ISLAMABAD: Heavy rain continues in Islamabad and surrounding areas, including Rawalpindi, on Friday, while several villages have been evacuated in Gilgit-Baltistan due to flooding.

The department said that rain is likely in the Balochistan districts of Musa Khel, Barkhan, Sibi, Dera Bugti and Naseerabad. A few areas in Zhob, Khuzdar and Lasbela may also receive showers.

In Punjab, rain is expected in Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Jhelum, Attock, Chakwal and Gujrat. Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, Sheikhupura and Hafizabad are also likely to receive rainfall. Kasur, Okara, Sahiwal, Faisalabad, Sargodha and Khushab may see showers, while Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan and Bahawalpur could receive rain with thunder.

In Sindh, showers are predicted in Karachi, Sukkur, Ghotki, Kashmore, Dadu, Tharparkar and Thatta.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, further rain is expected in Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Battagram and Mansehra. Abbottabad, Haripur, Buner, Malakand, Bajaur, Mohmand, Kurram and Mardan are also likely to receive showers. Peshawar, Swabi, Nowshera, Kohat, Hangu and parts of Waziristan may see rain at a few locations.

In Gilgit-Baltistan, strong winds with thunder and further rain have been forecast.

FLOODS IN G-B

Floods in Shigar, Gilgit-Baltistan, have affected more than two dozen villages. Several villages in Gulabpur tehsil have been evacuated as a precaution.
