HEC opens registration portal for four-year LLB degree admissions

LLB programme to be reduced to four years

WEB DESK: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has officially opened its online registration portal for the Law Admission Test (LAT), a mandatory requirement for admission to the four-year LLB degree programme in both public and private universities across the country. The online registration process will remain open until August 5, while the admission test itself is scheduled to take place on August 24.

According to an official announcement, aspiring law students must clear the LAT to secure admission for the 2025 academic session. The HEC has also released the test pattern and syllabus to facilitate candidates in their preparations.

The move comes as part of HEC’s efforts to standardise legal education in Pakistan and ensure merit-based admissions. All law colleges and universities, whether public or private, are required to admit students based on LAT scores.

Prospective candidates are advised to complete their registrations promptly through the official HEC portal to avoid last-minute complications.
