High-level military engagements: Naval cooperation, bilateral talks, and defense dialogue

RAWALPINDI: The Royal Malaysian Navy Chief Admiral Abdul Rahman visited the naval headquarters in Islamabad, the military’s media wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced on Monday.
In a press release, the media wing revealed that the Malaysian naval chief was “warmly” welcomed by Pakistan’s Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf.

As per ISPR’s statement, the navy’s “Chak and Choband forces” presented a guard of honour to the Malaysian naval chief. Rahman later paid his respects to the martyrs’ memorial.
The two military chiefs discussed mutual interests between the countries. They also talked about increasing bilateral naval cooperation.
Turkish foreign minister calls on army chief
Meanwhile, the Turkish Foreign Minister (FM) Hakan Fidan called on the army chief General Asim Munir on Monday.
As per ISPR’s press release, the two leaders discussed “matters of mutual interest”. Both sides “expressed satisfaction” with the strong relations between their countries, based on “historic, cultural, and religious” bonds.
The Turkish FM praised Pakistan army’s role in “maintaining peace” and “stability” in the region.
Australian defense chief visited Pakistan for 13th Round of Pakistan-Australia Defence and Security Talks
The Australian Defense Chief General Angus Campbell visited Pakistan for the 13th Round of Pakistan-Australia Defence and Security Talks on Monday.
The Australian defense chief also attended the “10th Round of 1.5 Track Security Dialogue”.
During his meeting with the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, the military leaders discussed defence and security cooperation between the two countries.
The Australian and Pakistan military leaders also discussed regional dynamics and global security challenges facing both nations.

The leaders committed to “strengthen security and defence cooperation” between Australia and Pakistan.
General Campbell praised the “high professional standards” of Pakistan armed forces and their efforts against terrorism. He also commended the Pakistan army for their contributions to regional peace and stability.
