High pollen count in Islamabad brings bad news for allergy sufferers


The Pakistan Meteorological Department reported alarming pollen counts for the capital, with at-risk people cautioned to take precautions.

ISLAMABAD: The Meteorological Department has raised concerns as the pollen count in Islamabad has surged to unprecedented levels.

A high pollen count means that most people with any sensitivity to pollen and molds will likely experience symptoms. A very high pollen count means that almost everyone who has any sensitivity to molds and pollen will have symptoms

 According to recent data, the pollen count has reached a staggering 4419 in the capital city, causing discomfort for many residents, especially allergy sufferers.

The highest pollen count in Islamabad was recorded in sectors H-8, G-6, I-8, and F-10, with Sector H-8 registering a record-breaking 4309. Sector G-6 followed closely behind with 2700, while Sector I-8 reported 2659 pollen particles.

This significant increase in pollen levels has prompted health advisories, urging citizens, especially those with allergies or respiratory conditions, to take necessary precautions.

Authorities are closely monitoring the situation and are working to address the issue to ensure the well-being of the public.
