Higher education reform: KP launches university ranking system

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has constituted a five-member committee to develop a comprehensive ranking system for universities in the province, aligning with national and global standards, the Higher Education Department announced on Tuesday.

The committee will collect and analyse data from all universities across KP before submitting its findings and recommendations to the provincial government. According to the official notification, the rankings will assess institutions based on academic quality, research output, and international benchmarks.

This initiative aims to enhance transparency and competitiveness among higher education institutions in the province. The committee’s final report will serve as a framework for future policy decisions to elevate educational standards.

Officials stated that the move is part of broader reforms to bring KP’s universities at par with leading national and global institutions.
