Hot, dry weather expected across most parts of country on Tuesday

WEB DESK: Hot and dry weather is expected to prevail in most parts of the country on Tuesday, according to the latest forecast issued by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

Going region by region, PMD predicts that in Islamabad and surrounding areas, the weather is expected to remain hot and dry throughout the day.

Similarly, most districts of Punjab will also experience dry conditions, although Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, and Rahim Yar Khan may see partly cloudy skies during the afternoon.

In Sindh, weather conditions are expected to vary slightly. Most districts will experience partly cloudy conditions, while strong winds and thundershowers are likely at a few locations. The latter type of weather is likely in Umerkot, Tharparkar, Badin, Sanghar, Mithi, Mirpurkhas, Tando Allah Yar, Tando Muhammad Khan, Khairpur, Jamshoro, Hyderabad, Sujawal, Karachi, Thatta, and surrounding regions.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will also remain largely hot and dry. However, partly cloudy weather is expected in the upper districts, including Chitral, Dir, Swat, and Kohistan.

In Balochistan, the weather is forecast to remain hot and dry in most districts.

Dry conditions are also expected to persist in Kashmir, while Gilgit-Baltistan is likely to experience partly cloudy weather during the day.

The forecast reflects stable conditions in most regions, with localised weather activity in parts of Sindh and the northern areas.

PROVINCES PRESENT REPORTS ON FLOOD DAMAGE

As the monsoon season has passed, Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan are assessing the flood damages in provinces. Representatives from three provinces have already submitted reports with the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) mission, while Punjab is scheduled to meet with the IMF today.

The data is still being tabulated for the full extent of the flood damage, but the preliminary reports have been communicated with the IMF as part of discussions related to the upcoming tranche of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program.
