CM Punjab initiates housing scheme project for low-income citizens

WEB DESK: Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz Sharif has made a significant decision regarding housing schemes for low-income individuals in Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Sargodha, and Rawalpindi, directing immediate site selection.

Highlighting the comprehensive consideration for site selection for houses, Maryam Nawaz Sharif stated, “The selection of sites for houses should be made taking into account all aspects, ensuring that every roof becomes a home project fulfilling residential needs.”

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, a review session was held on the project of one hundred thousand houses for low-income individuals.

She stated that the selection of sites for houses should be made with full consideration for the convenience of the people in cities.

“A home is the fundamental need of every family; apni chat, apna ghar project will fulfill residential needs,” she added.

She further stressed the construction of housing schemes within cities where land is available, ensuring proximity to amenities for the residents.

During the briefing, it was informed that the Board of Revenue has identified 17 sites for scrutiny.

Senior Provincial Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, Provincial Advisor Parvez Rashid, Provincial Minister for Information Azam Bukhari, Chief Secretary, SMBR, Chairman P&D, Secretary Housing, Finance, Commissioner Lahore, DG LDA, DG PHATA, Project Director Punjab Affordable Housing Programme, and other officials participated in the meeting.
