PM Shehbaz vows to eradicate terrorism in Balochistan

QUETTA: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday announced the complete eradication of terrorism in Balochistan.

Speaking after the Apex Committee meeting of the National Action Plan in Quetta, Sharif stated that terrorism, which resurfaced since 2018, will be decisively crushed.

The prime minister expressed deep sorrow over recent tragic incidents in Balochistan.

“Everyone is focused on the Balochistan incident, but we will end terrorism with determined intent,” he said. The sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces, security personnel, and civilians will not goe in vain.”

He said that the army and the federal government will lend full support to the Balochistan government to eliminate terrorism.

“We will remove all obstacles to the development of the beautiful province of Pakistan,” he assured.

Earlier, Prime Minister Sharif arrived in Quetta on a one-day visit.

According to a media release from the Prime Minister’s Office, he was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, and Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan.

Upon his arrival at Quetta Airport, the prime minister was received by Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti, Balochistan Assembly Speaker Abdul Khaliq Achakzai, Provincial Minister Abdul Rahman Khetran, and other senior government officials.

It should be noted that on Monday, militants attacked various locations in the southwestern areas of Balochistan, resulting in the deaths 54 people.
