IG Sindh to ensure security

KARACHI: As Youm-e-Ali – Hazrat Ali’s martyrdom anniversary (21 Ramazan) – approaches, the Inspector General (IG) of Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon has issued directives focusing on the critical need for comprehensive security arrangements across the province.

Threat alert spurs heightened security measures in Gilgit-Baltistan

IG Sindh has called for foolproof security measures to be implemented, ensuring the safety of citizens participating in the various processions and gatherings marking the occasion. IG Memon also stressed the importance of coordinated efforts to address security concerns at key procession routes and meeting points.

Key directives issued include the deployment of police and snipers at strategic locations, such as watch towers and tall buildings, along procession routes and around central gathering areas. The IG underscored the necessity for heightened intelligence gathering in the vicinity of both large and small processions originating from different areas.

Moreover, IG Sindh emphasised the swift sharing and implementation of intelligence information to preempt any potential security threats. He stressed the importance of seamless communication and coordination between districts and police stations, particularly during snap-checking operations.
