ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has dismissed objections to the bail application of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Vice President Shah Mehmood Qureshi.

IHC Chief Justice Amir Farooq presided over the proceedings and informed Shah Mehmood Qureshi that the court had already issued notices on his bail application. However, the office had objections on the fact that the certified copies of the First Information Report (FIR) and challan were not provided by Qureshi.

CJ Farooq further emphasised the importance of ensuring the accused’s rights in the legal process, stating, “On the request of PTI chairman, it is written in the judgment that no right of the accused should be bulldozed.”

Qureshi’s counsel Ali Bukhari pleaded with the court, saying, “Keep the case for hearing with the bail application.” The IHC accepted this plea, leading to the adjournment of the hearing until the following week.
