ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has ordered the formation of a medical board for check-up of founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan at Adiala Jail.

The order was issued by the IHC Justice Miangul Hasan Aurangzeb. Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Executive Director has been directed to form the board. The board will also include Imran Khan’s personal physician Dr Faisal Sultan.

Lawyers allowed to meet Imran Khan

PIMS Executive Director will be required to submit a report to the IHC registrar office after the medical board has been constituted. The IHC said that a copy of the court order should also be sent to the Superintendent Adiala Jail for execution.

Former premier Imran Khan had filed a request for a medical check from his personal physicians. The IHC noted that Imran Khan is 72 years old and an under-trial prisoner. The security measures at Adiala Jail should not hinder the check-up of a B-class prisoners by qualified doctors, the IHC ruling said.
