IIUI murder case: Suspect sent to jail

ISLAMABAD: A district and sessions court in Islamabad has sent the suspect in the murder case of 22-year-old International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) student Emaan Afroz to jail for an identification parade.
The accused, Feroz, was produced before Duty Magistrate Muhammad Asif Hanjra, where police requested his identification parade.
The court accepted the police’s request and ordered that the suspect be sent to jail for the purpose.
Feroz was arrested yesterday, nearly two months after the brutal murder. According to police, he had gone into hiding in Jhang after committing the crime.
On April 19, the accused scaled the hostel wall with a pistol and stayed in the courtyard for nearly an hour.

When Emaan spotted him and tried to walk away, he followed her and barged into her room. Three other girls were present inside. He threatened them to stay silent before opening fire on Emaan, leaving her critically injured.
He then fled by jumping over the wall again. Emaan was taken to the hospital but succumbed to her injuries.
The FIR regarding the IIUI murder case was registered at Ramna Police Station on the complaint of Emaan’s brother. During investigation, police found the suspect had a prior criminal record, including cases of rape and motorcycle theft.
