LONDON: The UK government has announced a plan to deport illegal immigrants from 11 countries, including Pakistan, by the end of this year.
The targeted countries also include Albania, Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Ghana, India, Iraq, Jamaica, Nigeria, Vietnam, and Zimbabwe.
The British Home Office has published an advertisement seeking commercial support to facilitate the repatriation of over 14,000 illegal immigrants. The initiative, backed by the ruling Labour Party, aims to send refugees and undocumented individuals back to their home countries.
The advertisement emphasizes that those who have no legal right to stay in the UK should return to their countries of origin. The campaign is part of the UK’s broader efforts to address illegal immigration and manage the influx of refugees.
Polls show that controlling immigration is now the most important issue for British voters for the first time in eight years, following far-right riots targeting Muslims and migrants that began after the murder of three girls in the town of Southport in northwest England.

During the riots people tried to set fire to a hotel housing asylum seekers in Rotherham, South Yorkshire.
The Home Office, which is responsible for tackling illegal immigration, announced it would hire 100 investigations officers to target the gangs who bring asylum seekers to Britain. It aims to increase the number of people deported to levels last seen in 2018, reversing a decline in recent years.
Employers who hire illegal workers will face sanctions, including financial penalty notices, business closure orders and potential prosecution. Those caught working illegally and eligible for deportation will be detained before they are removed, the Home Office said.
This move comes amid increasing pressure on the UK government to tighten immigration controls and ensure that those without the right to remain are returned to their home countries. The deportations are expected to be carried out by the end of this year.
