Imran-Bushra marriage case: Sessions Court announces reserved verdict

ISLAMABAD: Session Court on Monday announcing the reserved verdict in the ongoing case concerning the marriage between ex-chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi has declared it admissible for hearing.

In the ongoing case concerning the marriage between ex-chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi, Khawar Maneka, Bushra Bibi’s former husband, appeared in the Sessions Court in Islamabad.

Civil Judge Qudratullah oversaw the proceedings, where petitioner’s counsel Raja Rizwan presented detailed arguments, delving into the specific aspects of the case that could potentially impact the court’s final decision.

Khawar Maneka, the former spouse of Bushra Bibi, appeared in court during the ongoing proceedings. The session saw the petitioner’s counsel, Raja Rizwan, providing intricate legal arguments. Rizwan explored key aspects of the case, shedding light on elements that may bear significance in influencing the court’s ultimate judgment.

Khadijah Shah’s detention withdrawn, remand approved

During the proceedings, it was noted that Section 203C is applicable to the case, as asserted by advocate Rizwan Abbasi.

The presiding judge emphasised that, according to the law, two witnesses are necessary to accompany the complainant. The judge underscored the importance of adhering to legal procedures and conditions in order to ensure a fair and just hearing.

After a series of arguments and considerations, Sessions Court adjourned the hearing of the case. The court has reserved its judgment, indicating that a decision will be made after careful deliberation and examination of the presented evidence and legal arguments.

Justice Qudratullah, addressing the legal representatives, emphasised that the law is clear and cannot be altered. The judge indicated that judgments are necessary when the law is not clear, urging the legal teams to consult thoroughly before presenting their final arguments.
