Imran Khan gets ‘Eidi’

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf founder Imran Khan got a new pair of clothes and shoes as ‘Eidi’ on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.

According to sources, the personal belongings of PTI founder Imran Khan were sent to Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail, which included four new Eid outfits, a pair of shoes, and a waistcoat.

The clothes were handed over to prison authorities for delivery to Imran Khan, who has been behind bars since August 2023 in multiple cases.

Meanwhile, no PTI leader or family member visited Imran Khan in Adiala Jail on Eid.

No member of Bushra Bibi’s family came to meet her either.

According to jail sources, no request was made for an Eid meeting with PTI founder or Bushra Bibi. However, their families have requested a meeting on the second day of Eid.

This marks Imran Khan’s third Eid in Adiala Jail. Due to security reasons, he could not offer Eid prayers.

Party sources said the jail authorities have not yet responded to the request. A scheduled meeting with family and lawyers is set to take place on Tuesday as per standard procedure.

Party insiders confirmed that Imran Khan’s family and legal team will visit Adiala Jail on the second day of Eid.

It is worth mentioning that the Punjab government had arranged special facilities for prisoners in Adiala Jail for Eid.

Prisoners have been allowed to meet their loved ones during the festive days, and meetings for ordinary inmates are ongoing. Special meals have also been prepared for prisoners on Eid.
