Imran Khan sacrificed his comfort for people of Pakistan, says son

Kasim Khan son of Imran Khan

LONDON: Kasim Khan, son of former prime minister Imran Khan, said his father deliberately chose to stay in a dark prison cell rather than live a comfortable life in exile.

In a post shared on social media platform X, Kasim reflected on his father’s political journey and the personal sacrifices he made.

“Our father lived in Pakistan, away from us, for most of our lives. Not because he had to, but because he chose to stand up against a corrupt regime,” he wrote.

Kasim acknowledged that Imran Khan wasn’t always present in their lives as a father, but said Pakistan had him as a leader. “He gave everything to his country from hospitals and universities to a nationwide movement for justice,” he added.

Kasim revealed that Imran Khan had been offered a chance to live peacefully in England, spending his days with family, going for walks, or playing cricket.

“But he chose instead to remain imprisoned in a dark jail cell because he believes in Pakistan,” Imran Khan’s son Kasim wrote, adding that his father’s resolve comes from the people of Pakistan, and his sacrifice is for them.
