LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore on Wednesday dismissed former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan’s bail applications in eight cases, including the Jinnah House attack.
The court, presided over by Judge Manzar Ali Gul, announced the reserved verdict on the bail pleas.
The cases stem from the violent incidents of May 9, including attacks on military installations and sensitive sites.
During the proceedings, the prosecution argued that the accused (Imran Khan) orchestrated attacks on over 200 sensitive installations, terming the cases acts of rebellion and assaults on vital state infrastructure.
It is noteworthy that Imran Khan had sought bail in cases linked to the assault on Askari Tower, the arson attack on Shadman Police Station, and several other incidents.
In June, an anti-terrorism court extended the interim bail of Imran Khan in three cases including Jinnah House attack case.
Violent clashes broke out on May 9, 2023 across Pakistan after Imran Khan was arrested from the premises of the Islamabad High Court.
Army installations and Corps Commander’s house in Lahore, also known as Jinnah House, also came under attack during a protest by PTI workers
