LAHORE: Shahrez Khan, Imran Khan’s nephew and Aleema Khan’s son, has been arrested in connection with the May 9 cases, police has confirmed.

Lahore Police has confirmed the arrest of Shahrez, son of Aleema Khan, the sister of PTI founder Imran Khan.

According to DIG Investigation Syed Zeeshan Raza, Shahrez was arrested in connection with the May 9 cases.

He said the accused was wanted for involvement in the May 9 incidents, adding that those involved in anti-state activities do not deserve leniency.

Shahrez will be presented before the court today, he added.

Earlier, Aleema Khan claimed that four armed masked men had abducted her son from their house.

Aleema alleged that the men, dressed in plain clothes, entered the house through the kitchen. Shahrez was on the upper floor with his wife and father when the men broke in. The intruders also harassed the house staff, she said.

PTI spokespersons had also claimed that the men broke doors, dragged Shahrez out of his bedroom in front of his two children, and subjected him to violence.

Shahrez, born in Lahore, studied at Aitchison College before earning an MBA from Oxford University. He now serves as regional head at Simba Global, an Australian linen supplier, and is also a triathlete.
