LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former prime minister Imran Khan has refused to take the polygraph test in connection with the May 9 riots.
Earlier in the day, a forensic unit of the Lahore police had arrived at Adiala Jail on Tuesday afternoon to conduct a polygraph test on Imran Khan in connection with the May 9 riots.
An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Lahore had allowed the prosecution to conduct polygraph and photogrammetric tests on former Prime Minister Imran Khan, currently jailed at Adiala.
The tests, commonly used for lie detection and facial and voice analysis, were to be conducted in connection with 12 cases related to the May 9, 2023, riots.

The team led by DSP Asif Javed arrived at the Adiala Jail on Tuesday afternoon. Other members of the team included Inspector Mohammad Aslam, Inspector Mohammad Alam and Inspector Mohamad Arham
The team was to conduct polygraph and photogrammetric tests on Khan.
Khan’s legal team opposed the move, questioning the need for such tests more than 700 days after the events took place.
The ATC has set a 12-day deadline for completing the tests and specified that the prosecution could meet Khan at Adiala Jail, where he is currently held, to carry out the necessary procedures.
The May 9 cases include attacks on Jinnah House, Askari Tower, Shadman police station, and various PML-N party offices.
