Imran Khan's sons to join nationwide protest movement

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan’s sons, Qasim and Suleiman, will take an active role in the party’s upcoming nationwide protest movement, marking a significant shift in the family’s public involvement.

According to Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, the entire family, including his sons, will now be part of the nationwide movement set to begin on August 5.

Speaking to the media, Ms. Khan revealed that Qasim and Suleiman will initially visit the United States to raise international awareness about the injustices faced by their father.

Following that, they are expected to travel to Pakistan to join the protest campaign on the ground. However, she did not specify whether they would arrive before or after the official launch of the movement.

The announcement comes as Imran Khan, currently incarcerated in multiple cases, has categorically rejected all avenues of dialogue, calling instead for mass public mobilization. In a statement posted on his official X account, Khan said:

“The time for dialogue is over. The only path forward is a full-scale protest movement across the country. On August 5, I will complete two years of unjust imprisonment. This day will mark the peak of our national protest.”

Khan added that the movement’s complete action plan would be unveiled this week, and emphasized there would be “no negotiations of any kind” moving forward. He accused the current leadership of being “puppet rulers imposed by force” and said the nation must now rise to reclaim its rights.
