In tit-for-tat move, Pakistan airs anthem in India

ISLAMABAD: In what it described as another victory in the narrative war, Pakistan’s Ministry of Information claimed to have outmanoeuvred India in the digital media space by airing a patriotic song as an advertisement on Indian YouTube channels.

According to the ministry, while India blocked several Pakistani channels, Pakistan responded by promoting its message directly to Indian audiences through online platforms.

“Despite India’s tactics, Pakistan’s voice is being heard across the border,” the ministry said.

The patriotic song – reflecting the professionalism of Pakistan armed forces, national resolve, and spirit of defence – is being broadcast as a YouTube ad inside India, creating a stir on Indian social media.

The move sparked widespread criticism of the Modi government, with Indian netizens questioning how such content was allowed to bypass restrictions.

“This is a clear example of turning the narrative battle in Pakistan’s favour,” said Information Minister Attaullah Tarar. “We have taken the message into their homes. Despite their efforts to silence us, our message has reached the Indian public.”

The ministry said India’s attempts to suppress Pakistan’s voice will not succeed, adding that the digital campaign reflects Islamabad’s commitment to countering propaganda with facts and national pride.

Meanwhile, Tarar said in an interview with TRT made it clear that Pakistan had no role in the Pahalgam attack and that is precisely why Islamabad is calling for a transparent and neutral probe.

“Our hands are clean. Instead of levelling baseless accusations, India must engage with facts,” he said.

The minister warned that if Indian aggression continues, Pakistan is fully capable of delivering a strong and fitting response. “Pakistan has never initiated conflict, but any attack from India will be met with force.”

Tarar stressed that Pakistan is a responsible state that seeks peace in the region but will not ignore its defence. “The regional peace is under threat due to India’s reckless policies, and it must roll back its unilateral actions.”
