Indian leadership’s recent statements reflect disturbing mindset: FO

Pakistan rejects provocative

ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Office on Monday strongly condemned recent statements by Indian leadership, saying they reflect a “disturbing mindset” that threatens regional peace.

“The international community is well aware of India’s aggressive posture and its track record of destabilizing actions,” FO spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan said during the weekly media briefing.

He accused India of involvement in terrorist activities inside Pakistan, stating, “India cannot hide facts through hollow narratives or hate-driven tactics.”

Kashmir remains core issue

Khan reiterated that the Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir dispute remains the primary obstacle to regional peace and stability. “Pakistan remains committed to a just and lasting resolution of the Kashmir issue in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions,” she said.

“Pushing the core issue to the backburner only breeds mistrust and paves the way for potential conflict in the region,” the spokesperson warned.

Recent developments expose futility of coercion

The FO spokesperson said recent developments have “once again exposed the complete futility of coercion and aggression.” He emphasised that “India cannot achieve its objectives through threats, false narratives or use of force.”

Pakistan committed to peace

Baloch reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to peace and regional stability, stating: “Attempts to portray Pakistan as a source of regional instability are divorced from reality.”

“Pakistan remains equally determined to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity,” he added, concluding the briefing with a message of restraint and resolution through dialogue.

The strong statement comes amid escalating tensions between the nuclear-armed neighbours over the Kashmir dispute and recent accusations of cross-border terrorism.
