Inflation projected to decrease to 7% by 2025, Dar claims

ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has made claim that inflation is projected to decrease to 7 per cent by 2025.

Dar’s statement follows the recent board approval from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to disburse a loan of $1.19 billion to Pakistan.

He further stated that Pakistan is set to join the G20 by 2023 and position itself as the 24th largest economic power.

In a separate announcement today, Dar said that the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has received a significant boost of $2 billion from Saudi Arabia. This substantial contribution is expected to have a direct positive impact on Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves.

Last week, the SBP’s foreign exchange reserves experienced a notable increase of $393 million, reaching a total of $4.463 billion. This growth can be attributed to official government inflows. Remarkably, over the past two weeks, the SBP’s reserves have surged by an impressive $937 million.
