Initial reports indicate Karachi blast a suicide attack

KARACHI: The Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) has prepared an initial report on the blast near the Karachi Jinnah International Airport, confirming it as a suicide attack.

According to the report, the attackers targeted a Chinese delegation.

The attack took place a day earlier near Karachi Airport, where a powerful explosion claimed the lives of two foreign nationals and injured 17 others. The blast was heard across the city, and several vehicles were also destroyed in the aftermath.

Flight operations at Karachi airport continue uninterrupted

The BDS report revealed that approximately 70 to 80 kilograms of commercial explosives were used in the attack. The powerful explosion caused extensive damage, with 12 vehicles affected, three of which were totally destroyed.

The blast has intensified concerns regarding the safety of foreign nationals, especially Chinese citizens, who have been targeted in similar attacks in the past.

Security forces are investigating the incident further.
