Intense humidity grips Lahore, temperature to reach 33°C

LAHORE: The weather in Lahore has turned hot and humid. According to the Meteorological Department, the sky is clear but the heat is intensifying.
Officials say the temperature was recorded at 27°C early in the morning and has now reached 28°C due to humidity in Lahore. It is expected to climb up to 33°C in the coming hours.
Humidity in the air has reached 83 per cent in Lahore, which will further increase the feeling of discomfort.
The current weather is causing problems for citizens, especially the elderly and those with health conditions. People have been advised to stay cautious.

Meanwhile in the federal capital Islamabad and surrounding areas, thunderstorms with strong winds and rain are likely in the evening or at night.
Rain is expected in upper parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while some plain areas may receive light showers during the night.
In Peshawar, the day is likely to remain hot and humid. Bannu recorded the highest temperature at 40°C yesterday.
In the federal capital Islamabad and nearby areas, strong winds, thunderstorms, and rain are expected by evening or night.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has advised citizens to stay hydrated and avoid unnecessary exposure to the sun. In case of rainfall, people are urged to stay in contact with local authorities for updates on drainage and traffic.
