Inter exams commence in Karachi amid tight security

KARACHI: The Inter exams in Karachi under the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) have started today amid high security.

A total of 139,000 students will participate in the exams and 180 examination centers have been established across the city out of which 26 have been declared sensitive.

Section 144 will be enforced around the examination centers to maintain order and Rangers personnel have been assigned to ensure security. No mobile phones will be allowed inside the examination centers to prevent cheating during the inter exams in Karachi.

The exams will be conducted in both morning and evening shifts.

The morning shift will include exams for Pre-Engineering, Pre-Medical, and Home Economics groups, while the evening shift will be for the General Science group.

Today’s morning shift exam will compulsory English paper for 12th grade, and the evening shift will have the Physics paper for the same grade.

Meanwhile, due to the severe heat wave predicted during the exam period special health measures have been taken. Medical staff will be present at examination centres, and for the first time, students will be provided with energy medicines to prevent malnutrition. These include painkillers, anti-allergy medications, glucose, vitamin C, and mineral water, all available for free
