Intermittent rain, snow to continue in various parts of Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Intermittent rain will continue with chances of hailstorms in Islamabad while snowfall is also expected in upper parts of the country including Murree and Galiyat.

According to the Met Office, intermittent rains are expected to continue till February 28 (Friday) in Islamabad and surrounding areas.

Snowfall has been reported in Murree, Galiyat, Naran, and Kaghan, while Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Mansehra, and Abbottabad have also experienced heavy snowfall.

Rainfall has been recorded in Shangla, Astore, Hunza, Skardu, Neelum Valley, and Bagh, with Poonch witnessing both rain and snowfall, leading to a drop in temperature.

In Balochistan, rain has been reported in Quetta, Ziarat, Chaman, Pishin, Qila Abdullah, and Qila Saifullah, with the weather department warning of possible road closures and traffic disruptions due to slippery roads.

Qila Abdullah, Qila Saifullah, Zhob, Barkhan, Khuzdar, and Musakhel may also experience heavy rain and snowfall.

Severe snowfall in Ziarat, Chaman, and Qila Saifullah could lead to road closures and traffic disruptions.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, snowfall and rain continue in the mountainous areas, while Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Kurram, Nowshera, Peshawar, and Charsadda have also received rainfall. Kohat, Karak, Bannu, Waziristan, and Lakki Marwat have seen both rain and snowfall.

The Met deprtment has warned of potential landslides in Azad Kashmir due to heavy rainfall, while Gilgit-Baltistan is also experiencing rain and snowfall.

In Dir, Chitral, Kohistan, Swat, and Shangla, more rain is expected in the coming hours.

Thunderstorms and rain, along with snowfall in the mountainous regions, are expected in Quetta, Ziarat, Chaman, Kalat, and Pishin, according to the Meteorological Department.
