Islamabad Airport now under Rawalpindi’s jurisdiction

ISLAMABAD: Areas of Islamabad Airport that were previously under Attock’s jurisdiction will now fall under Rawalpindi.
The Punjab government has issued a formal notification to this effect.
According to the notification, the airport’s runway, ASF Colony, main terminal building, and a 3-kilometer area, previously part of Attock, have been included within Rawalpindi’s limits.

Additionally, five villages from Attock have also been officially declared part of Rawalpindi’s jurisdiction.
This step was taken to address legal complications faced by passengers due to the overlapping jurisdictions of Attock and Rawalpindi.
All areas of Islamabad Airport have now been placed under the Naseerabad Police Station. The Pakistan Airports Authority has confirmed the inclusion of these areas in Rawalpindi’s jurisdiction.
