Islamabad DC says “siren reports” false; urges public to avoid rumors

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad Capital Territory says that “sirens” heard around the federal capital are “fake.”

In a statement issued on X, Islamabad DC said that in case of any emergency, the district administration will issue official statements on media (televised and social media).

“Some people are spreading fear and panic by playing fake sirens,” DC Islamabad said, adding that the public is requested to avoid rumors.

“In case of any emergency, the district administration will inform itself,” the statement said, adding that a certified announcement will be made on social media and electronic media.”

The Islamabad DC office have also said that action will be taken against those who are trying to disrupt peace and order. “No information should be considered valid without confirmation from the district administration,” the statement said.
