Fire at Islamabad factory extinguished

ISLAMABAD: A fire that broke out at an air conditioner factory, owned by MIA Group, near Model Town Humak in Islamabad, has been finally extinguished with the help of over 20 firefighting vehicles.

According to Islamabad Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon, the cooling process is still underway to eliminate the risk of reignition.

A fire in an air-conditioning manufacturing company broke out at around 8:00 am Friday morning. The intensity of the fire was so much that billows of smoke could be seen from far areas of Islamabad. It took more than two hours and 20 firefighting vehicles to contain the fire at the factory in Islamabad.

The DC added that an investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the fire.

No casualties have been reported so far, but the extent of financial loss is being assessed.

MIA GROUP’S OFFICIAL STATEMENT

The company confirming the incident in an official statement on Friday said that a fire broke out at a facility of the MIA Group of Companies located on Kahuta Road near Model Town Humak, resulting in significant capital loss.

According to the statement, the fire caused extensive damage to property and equipment. However, no lives were lost, and all employees remained safe during the incident.

“Alhamdulillah, by the mercy of Allah, there were no casualties. All staff members are safe,” the company said, expressing gratitude for the swift response of emergency services and the support received from employees, clients, and well-wishers.

MIA Group described the moment as challenging but reaffirmed its resilience and commitment to recovery.

“We are already taking steps toward rebuilding, with a renewed spirit to serve better than ever before,” the statement read.

Quoting the Quranic verse, “Indeed, with hardship comes ease” (Surah Ash-Sharh 94:6), the company thanked its partners, clients, and the community for their prayers, patience, and continued trust.

“The journey ahead is long, but Insha’Allah, we will emerge stronger and more united,” the company added.

Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire. Cooling and recovery operations are still underway.
