ISLAMABAD: A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Islamabad Irfan Nawaz Memon to discuss the regulation and permission of open air spaces for restaurants in the city.

During the meeting, it was decided to develop a comprehensive code of conduct regarding the use of open air spaces by restaurants. The DC instructed Assistant Commissioners to complete the measurement of all relevant areas to ensure accurate implementation.

Election Act Amendment Bill 2024 passes by majority vote

DC Memon emphasised that open areas will be permitted with consideration for the problems faced by citizens. He stated that encroachment under the guise of open air space would not be allowed.

Memon reinforced this by warning that action will be taken against any restaurants covering more than the approved space.

These measures aim to balance the needs of restaurant businesses with the rights and convenience of the public, ensuring a harmonious use of open spaces in Islamabad.
