Islamabad traffic plan: Major roads to close for traffic tomorrow

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Traffic Police has announced a special traffic plan for ceremonies being held tomorrow in the capital to mark Marka-e-Haq and Independence Day.
The capital administration has also declared a local holiday for tomorrow in connection with the celebrations.
As part of the traffic plan, Srinagar Highway from Serena Underpass to Zero Point, Zero Point, Serena Hotel and Khayaban-e-Suhrwardy will be closed to all traffic.
Alternative routes will be Jinnah Avenue, Embassy Road and Murree Road.

Similarly, Garden Avenue will also be closed from 3pm on August 13, while heavy traffic will be barred from entering between 3pm on August 13 and 5pm on August 14.
Traffic plan for Sports Complex ceremony
The traffic police has carved a separate traffic plan for the main event of the celebrations – set to take place at the Sports Complex.
Guests have been provided with colour-coded entry cards to ensure access through designated routes.
Chief Traffic Officer Captain (retd) Syed Zeeshan Haider urged guests to display the sticker on the left side of the windscreen, carry CNICs and invitation cards, and avoid bringing cameras, mobile phones and handbags.
Visitors must use only the assigned routes for entry and exit. Motorcycles, bicycles and CNG vehicles will not be permitted, and entry to the Sports Complex will be restricted to invited guests only.
White Route 1 and 2
According to the traffic plan, guests arriving via White Route 1 from Jhelum, Mangla and Rawalpindi Chaklala Scheme will use Islamabad Expressway, Faizabad Flyover, Murree Road and Kashmir Chowk-Srinagar Highway to enter through Gate 1 of the Sports Complex.
White Route 2
White Route 2 will serve guests from DCI, Naval Headquarters, Air Headquarters and Islamabad, directing them via DCI Shaheen Chowk, Faisal Chowk, D-Chowk and the Srinagar Highway U-turn to Gate 1.
Red Route 1 and 2
For Red Route 1, guests from Jhelum, Mangla and Chaklala Cantt will travel via Faizabad, I-8 Interchange and Jungle Track to disembark outside Gates 3 and 4 for entry to Jinnah Stadium.

Red Route 2 will serve Islamabad guests via Faisal Avenue, Zero Point and I-8 Interchange to the same entry points.
Green Route 1 and 2
Guests on Green Route 1 and 2 will access Gate 6 via Faizabad Interchange, Murree Road, Tulip Hotel and Jungle Track Garden Avenue.
Blue and Yellow Route 1 and 2
Likewise, Blue and Yellow Route 1 and 2 guests will use Zero Point and Srinagar Highway to reach Gate 2 by 7pm. If drivers are not present, vehicles will be parked in a nearby ground.
