Islamabad Traffic Police issues traffic advisory for today

ISLAMABAD: The entry and exit routes of the Red Zone, including Serena chowk, NADRA, Marriott, and Express Chowk will be temporarily closed today (April 20), until further notice in view of law and order. In light of these, Islamabad traffic police has issued an advisory to facilitate citizens in commuting through the federal capital, Chief Traffic Officer Captain (R) Zeeshan Haider said on Sunday.

Citizens going to the Secretariat or Red Zone should use Margalla Road. Citizens going to Faizabad and Rawalpindi from Rawal Dam Chowk should use Kashmir Chowk and Srinagar Highway/9th Avenue double road.

From Ojhri Loop, use Express Highway Dhok Kala Khan Service Road. Citizens going to Rawalpindi from Karal via Express Chowk should use Old Airport Road, Rawal Dam Road. Use 9th Avenue double road, the traffic police advises.

Zero Point is closed for Faizabad.

To go to Karal via Faisal Avenue Rawalpindi Murree Road and Srinagar Highway, use the 9th New double road, Rawal Road Old Airport Karal Chowk to get there.

Citizens coming from Murree to Islamabad, from Faizabad via Rawal Dam Chowk to Faizabad, turn left to Karal Chowk to their old airport Rawal Road Rawalpindi Murree Road, double road.

Citizens going from New Airport to Murree or Barakahu can use Sadar Road.

From Kashmir Highway, use the 9th Avenue double road from Rawal Road to the old airport, up to Lehtrar road, Park road, Rawal Team Kashmir Chowk to Murree Barakahu.

From Islamabad, use the 9th Avenue double road to go to Rawalpindi via Faisal Avenue. From Muzaffargarh Nihari, use the Ambassador Hotel 7th Avenue or G-6.

From GPO Chowk, use 7th Avenue or Fazl-e-Haq Road, Jinnah Avenue.

Traffic Police’s social media platform and ITP Radio FM-92.4 are available to inform citizens about traffic routes in a timely manner, CTO Haider said.
