Islamabad’s heat washed away

ISLAMABAD: Weather took a turn for the better in Islamabad on Sunday afternoon when drizzling was reported from several areas in the city.

Moments later the drizzle turned into heavy rain. The temperature remains high despite the light rain, but the clouds managed to cover the sun’s heat offering much needed respite to the denizens of the city.

PDMA issues ‘Urban Flooding Alert’ ahead of monsoon in Punjab

Meanwhile, from coming month, rain is expected in Punjab starting next week, prompting an urban flooding alert ahead of the monsoon season. This year’s monsoon is forecasted to bring 35 per cent more rainfall than usual.

The Punjab Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has sent a letter to the provincial administration regarding flood-alert.
