Rawalpindi roads partially reopened; entry points to Islamabad still blocked

ISLAMABAD/RAWALPINDI: Mobile services and the metro service remain suspended in Islamabad for the third consecutive day. Since Friday, Islamabad has been under a mobile signal shutdown, with containers blocking major roads—though the situation has now begun to ease.

Rawalpindi has also seen a partial reopening with the removal of containers from major locations, including Murid Chowk, Committee Chowk, and Waris Khan road.

However, the route from Rawalpindi to Islamabad remains obstructed as containers are still positioned at critical points such as Faizabad, Ninth Avenue, and Zero Point in the capital city.

However, the service road along Islamabad’s Srinagar Highway has been opened for traffic.
