IUB security chief arrested with ‘drugs and obscene videos’

BAHAWALPUR: Islamia University Bahawalpur (IUB) Chief Security Officer Ijaz Shah has been taken into custody on charges of possessing drugs within the university premises.

Police confirmed that a First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against Shah at the Baghdad Al-Jadeed police station following the discovery of 10 grams of crystal meth and other illicit substances from his possession.

Police have registered the case against the university official under the Anti-Narcotics Act for allegedly possessing drugs.

The police claimed that explicit videos and obscene photos were also found on Shah’s mobile phone during the investigation.

Khalid Shehzad, the spokesperson for the IUB, said that the university was currently conducting an internal investigation into the matter and an official statement will be released shortly.

The arrest of a university official has raised eyebrows about drug-related activities within the educational institution.
