Jaffar Express derails near Jacobabad, explosion reported

JACOBABAD: Jaffar Express train has been involved in an accident near Jacobabad, reports said on Thursday morning.
As per initial reports, six coaches of passenger train going from Peshawar to Quetta, derailed near Jacobabad in Sindh. There are also reports of passengers getting injured in the accident.
Latest updates show that a bomb blast has taken place on the railway track near Jacobabad, Pakistan Railways Divisional Superintendent (DS) Shahid Abbas said. He informed media that five coaches of a passenger train derailed as a result of the blast.
The track has also been damaged as a result of the blast, Shahid Abbas added.
So far, no casualties have been reported in the accident. A rescue crane has been dispatched from Rohri to the scene, while teams from the Railway Divisional Office Sukkur have been also been dispatched to the scene, Shahid Abbas said.
