Jaranwala incident: Punjab CM announces Rs2m for repair of each affected home

JARANWALA: Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi convened a special cabinet meeting in a church in Jaranwala aimed to address various issues, including the repair of Christian places of worship and houses that had been damaged during the vandalism by a mob.
During the meeting, Naqvi also highlighted the importance of treating religious minorities with respect and fairness.
He also announced Rs2 million for the construction and repair of each affected homes. He said that financial aid will be distributed among the affected families in the next 48 hours.
He said that at least two churches were restored their original condition within a span of 72 hours, reflecting the government’s commitment to providing swift relief to affected community.
Assuring further assistance, Naqvi emphasised the government’s dedication to restoring all affected households to their original condition.
Caretaker PM Kakar to visit Jaranwala
The Punjab caretaker chief minister also met with affected Christian families and assured them of the government’s commitment to justice and recovery. “Swift measures will be taken to mitigate the losses suffered by the affected individuals,” he said.
Reaffirming his support, he said that the Punjab government stands in solidarity with the affected families.
