JI announces end to Rawalpindi sit-in; announces countrywide sit-ins

ISLAMABAD/RAWALPINDI: Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, the Emir of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), has announced that the current dharna (sit-in) march will conclude on August 8.

Following this, a series of dharnas are scheduled to take place across different cities in the country.

A sit-in will be held in Lahore on August 11, followed by another in Peshawar on August 12. These demonstrations are part of JI’s ongoing campaign to against rising inflation and other security issues.

In addition, Hafiz Naeem has indicated plans to announce a nationwide shutter-down strike after consultations with traders. This move is expected to further intensify their efforts and draw greater attention to their cause.
