F-8 Interchange Underpass set to open on December 25

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is completing the construction of the Jinnah Avenue F-8 Exchange underpass in a record time of 42 days, and it will be open to the public by next week.
According to officials, 75 per cent of the work on the F-8 underpass has already been completed, and it is expected to open for traffic on December 25, 2024.
However, the flyover at the F-8 Exchange Chowk Interchange on Jinnah Avenue will be completed by February, according to CDA officials.
Chairman CDA, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, made a surprise visit to the project site to review progress.

Expressing satisfaction over the ongoing construction, he instructed that simultaneous work on both the flyover and the underpass should continue to ensure timely completion.
The chairman emphasised the importance of completing the project within the stipulated time while maintaining high construction standards.
He directed consultants and resident engineers to ensure the quality and timely delivery of the project.
During the briefing, officials informed the chairman that work on all sections of the project is progressing as per schedule.
The girders for the underpass are near completion, and the concrete work on the underpass bed will be finished soon. Additionally, 70 out of 74 piles of the Jinnah Avenue Interchange have been completed.
The Serena Interchange project would also be inaugurated in the first week of January, with work being completed in 60 days.
