As per reports, four former SC judges are being considered for the role of ad hoc judges. The nominees include retired justice and adviser Alam, Maqbool Baqar, Mazhar Alam Miankhel, and former justice Sardar Tariq Masood.
The primary objective behind the proposal is to alleviate the mounting backlog of pending cases in the Supreme Court.
It is believed that the inclusion of these judges will help expedite the resolution of cases and streamline the judicial process within the court.
Sources have indicated that the ad hoc judges are expected to serve for a period of three years. The temporary appointment is aimed at providing additional judicial support to the Supreme Court and enhancing its capacity to handle the existing caseload efficiently.
