Judicial Complex Attack case: Bailable warrants for PTI chief issued

Islamabad: The Anti-Terrorism Court Thursday issued bailable arrest warrants for the Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan and others in the judicial complex attack case.

The court has also issued warrants for Shibli Faraz, Farrukh Habib, Hasan Niazi, and other party leaders. The accused have been summoned to appear in person on July 19.

The arrest warrants were issued in relation to a case registered at Ramna Police Station 2 and Golra Police Station in Islamabad on the charges pertaining to an attack on the judicial complex.

During the court hearing, the lawyers representing Chairman PTI filed a request for exemption from attendance. They argued that the Chairman needed to appear in the Lahore High Court and could not travel to Islamabad.

In response, Judge Abul Hasnat stated that the Chairman of PTI must appear in court. The court, therefore, summoned all the accused, including the Chairman, to appear in person on July 19 and adjourned the hearing.
