Justice Babar Sattar discloses receiving intimidating messages

ISLAMABAD: In another letter to Islamabad High Court (IHC) Chief Justice Aamer Farooq, Justice Babar Sattar has disclosed receiving an intimidating message from security agencies, asking him to withdraw from hearing the case related to scrutiny of surveillance procedures.

Despite the pressure on him during the audio leaks case, Justice Sattar stated, he did not succumb to these threatening tactics, asserting his commitment to judicial independence.

Justice Sattar’s letter highlighted his concerns about the potential damage such messages could inflict on the justice system, describing the communication as an apparent attempt to intimidate and influence judicial proceedings.

He emphasised the importance of maintaining the integrity of judicial processes against such undue influence.

Additionally, Justice Sattar noted that the court had issued notices to secret and investigative agencies in connection with an audio leaks case.
