KARACHI: Karachi experienced a mild earthquake measuring 2.3 on the Richter scale on Monday evening, causing tremors across various parts of the city. Residents in Clifton, I.I. Chundrigar Road, Saddar, North Nazimabad, and several other areas felt the quake.
According to Aaj News, there were no reports of casualties or significant damage following the tremors, providing relief to the citizens who briefly experienced the unsettling event.
This incident comes on the heels of a stronger 3.2 magnitude earthquake that struck Karachi in April. That quake was felt in Quaidabad, Malir, Gulistan-e-Johar, Gulshan-e-Maymar, and Saadi Town, causing alarm among residents but also resulting in no serious harm or structural damage.
Earlier this year, a more severe earthquake with a magnitude of 6.0 jolted various parts of Pakistan. The tremors were felt in Islamabad, Lahore, surrounding areas, and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, highlighting the region’s vulnerability to seismic activity.
