Karachi gears up for ‘prestigious’ marathon

KARACHI: The City of Lights is set to host a prestigious marathon, with all arrangements now in place for the event.

The marathon in Karachi is scheduled to take place at the famous Nishan-e-Pakistan monument, along the scenic Sea View.

The marathon has garnered official endorsement from the World Athletics, the international governing body for athletics.

Athletics groups from across the country, including those from Islamabad and Quetta, have converged on the seaport city to take part in the sporting event.

The distribute of marathon kits is currently underway, ensuring that participants are adequately prepared for the challenges ahead.

The Karachi marathon will offer a variety of race categories, including a full marathon, a half marathon, a 10 kilometre relay, and a 5 kilometre fun run.

A shake-out run is also planned for participants prior to the main event, providing an outlet for runners to warm up and familiarise themselves with the course.

A key feature of this marathon is that the participants are running to raise funds and awareness for various charitable causes.
