KARACHI: The Karachi police on Saturday successfully thwarted a potential terror attack in the city. Their actions led to the arrest of a man who had transported 3,000 detonators from Hyderabad to Karachi in a rickshaw.

Police officials have identified the arrested individual as Anwar, son of Bahadur, originally from Swat. It was revealed that Anwar had brought these explosives with the intent of carrying out a terror attack in the southern part of the port city.

Anwar was reportedly in the process of transporting the explosives to a residence located in the Baldia Town area of Karachi, where they were to be stored for malicious purposes.
